Education
staff from across the NERRS join NOAA colleagues at the Lake Superior National
Estuarine Research Reserve in Superior, Wisconsin on October 27-29th
for discussions, sharing, planning and exploring the outdoors in order to
advance coastal and marine education in the Reserve system together. The $200 registration fee covers the cost of morning refreshments and lunch. To ensure a correct meal count, please register by October 1, 2026. |

Learn About Your Land: Bayfield and Douglas County

Friday, October 23 from 6-8PM (classroom session). Saturday, October 24 from 9am-noon (hands on field day). |

Description |
In Learn About Your Land classes, Wisconsin landowners
learn about things they can do to keep their woodland healthy and how to get
assistance from their local DNR forester and other professionals. Every year,
we host a series of three weekly classes in several counties across the state.
Speakers include UW-Madison Extension Forestry educators, DNR foresters, and
other natural resource professionals.
In October of 2026 we will visit Bayfield County, WI and
have an in-depth class and then field day regarding Invasive plant species that
are threatening the woodlands of Bayfield and Douglas County and how to
identify and properly manage these species. Come back on Saturday's hands on
class to learn to spot these plants in the field and learn integrated
management techniques to control these species. |
